Established by Jessica Kovarsky, Studio Aya provides design solutions that respond to the specific needs of clients, while remaining sensitive to the context of each project. As an architect and interior designer, Jessica relies upon her extensive experience in both, merging the two seamlessly in order to create spaces that are cohesive, thoughtful and reflect the vision of her clients. It is her strong belief that every client is an essential part of the collaborative design process.

 

Born and raised in New York City, Jessica was exposed to design and architecture at an early age. In pursuit of a career in design, she obtained a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, one of the top architecture schools in the country.

 

She went on to work at the renowned Manhattan based architecture firm of Perkins Eastman, where she worked for six years. Here she honed her design skills through her participation in the design and construction of projects, ranging from international design competitions, such as the Shanghai World Expo and the TKTS booth in Times Square, to moderate sized school projects in the New York region. She then moved to San Diego in 2006, where she worked as a Senior Designer at a top tier La Jolla interiors firm for seven years, designing and managing a multitude of high-end residential and restaurant projects.

 

Jessica blends her knowledge of New York’s urban chic with the fresh, inherently indoor-outdoor design of Southern California. She is committed to thoughtful design that is respectful to both context and scale.
